A Sweet Bon Voyage at the Border

Mehvish, a minor, was trafficked by her boyfriend from Bangladesh to India. Her boyfriend offered her false promises of marriage so they entered India illegally.

Mehvish was rescued four years ago in Pune by an organization and was later sent to a shelter home in Hyderabad. During these four years, her repatriation process was initiated, but her application was denied. Recently, our social worker, Shelly, stepped in to assist in a reapplication and Mehvish's repatriation was approved. Shelly accompanied her to the Bangladesh–India border where she was safely handed over to our partner organization in Bangladesh.

We are glad to share that Mehvish has now been repatriated to her homeland and is safe.
