Seeking a School for Rashida

Social worker Shalini recently visited 12-year-old Rashida (rescued April 18, 2026 from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh) in a shelter home. Rashida looked well, and shared that she has made new friends at the shelter, and enjoys playing with them.

When Shalini asked about Rashida's education, Rashida said she has not yet been enrolled in school. The supervisor at the shelter home explained that the school that most of the shelter home children attend is short of teachers and only accepts a limited number of students each year, so Rashida is unable to attend school with her friends this year.

We hope to find an alternative option for Rashida to attend school, or to connect her to alternative education options, so that she can grow in knowledge and develop new skills.
