Social worker Smitha visited Zarine (rescued from Chhattisgarh in March 2025). Zarine was pregnant when we rescued her. She delivered a healthy baby boy in October. Smitha gave her some baby items, which she accepted gladly.
Zarine shared that she is anxious about returning home to Bangladesh. She is worried that her family might harm her and her baby. She is so afraid that she has not spoken to them since her rescue. Zarine told Smitha that she is happy in the shelter home and wants to continue living there. The District Protection Officer is still weighing the facts in Zarine's case and taking into serious consideration her concerns about her safety if she returns to Bangladesh. Our team continues to advocate for Zarine and support her through this new journey of motherhood.
