Jyothi's testimony
On September 15th, 2021 at a Special Court in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Program Associate Jyothi Gaur testified against accused Basanti, Aslam, Kamal and Pinki for their role in exploiting Sneha. Sneha was rescued from a brothel in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh on August 19, 2019 when she was 15 years old. Jyothi answered the defense advocate's cross examination with short and clear answers. She gave the judge an overview of the entire rescue operation - from the time they received the lead about Sneha to the steps involved in rescuing her. The judge remarked at Jytohi's candor and told the defense advocate that if it was a police officer giving his testimony, he would have made several blunders by now. His line of questioning only highlighted Jyothi's testimony and dispelled any notion that his client was innocent and being framed by Freedom Firm. Jyothi was thankful that the judge, public prosecutor and court clerk were favorable towards her. The defense advocate kept trying to twist and turn her words but the court clerk re-emphasized whatever Jyothi said.
I felt God's favor upon me...and He helped me to answer well.

Remin's testimony On September 24th, 2021, Remin, our liaison officer from our office in Allahabad, UP, shared his testimony in a Special Court in Sasaram, Bihar. He shared the role he played in rescuing 17 year old Padma from a brothel in Sasaram on September 30th, 2020. This was the first time that Remin shared his testimony in court. The defense advocate's opening statement was one of mockery, calling Remin a do-gooder. Even though the defense advocate tried to confuse and intimidate him, the judge was supportive and even explained questions that Remin did not understand.
