Smitha's Birthday Celebration!

Our social worker embraces Smitha during the visit

Earlier this month, our social worker visited Smitha. Although she still felt disappointed over being rejected by the college, she was in a cheerful mood. It was her younger brother’s birthday, and she had celebrated her 19th birthday a few days earlier. The social worker surprised her with a birthday cake.

Smitha's uncle hosted an enormous party and invited the neighborhood to their small home. He even hired a DJ, and Smitha's aunt made a large pot of biryani. Smitha's uncle and aunt wanted to make up for all the birthdays, festivals, and special occasions they missed celebrating with Smitha while she was in the shelter home for 3 years. They went to extra lengths to make her feel loved and valuable.
