Sajili* came to Pune in February to testify against the accused Reshma. Sajili was accompanied to Pune by her brother Shorab, who happens to be the only earning member in the family. Though Sajili came to Pune on the 7th of February, she finally got to testify on the 21st of February. This long delay was due to numerous tactics employed by the defense to prevent Sajili from getting to the stand. This period was very difficult for Sajili as well
as her brother, but despite all the odds, she testified well. Sajili’s small but significant victory was a step towards preventing Reshma from exploiting other girls.
