On October 5, social workers Shelly and Tamasa visited Moni (rescued on December 4, 2020, from West Bengal). Moni works as a housekeeper and earns a very small wage. She has two children and is eager to build a better future for them, but her family is facing a financial crisis; her husband is an alcoholic and provides no finances. Right now, Moni barely makes enough for their basic needs.

Moni is determined to not allow this financial crisis to affect her children’s education. She shared that she is looking into the possibility of working at a soap factory so she can bring some financial stability to her home.

Our team will continue to check in with Moni to support and assist her. We hope she secures the soap factory position and can enroll her children in school.
