On June 18, 2026, we received information regarding Manila, Mora, and Prachi, who were rescued from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on August 4, 2023. The three victims had been trafficked from Bangladesh to India, where they were r@ped and exploited. At the time of their trafficking, Manila was only 15 years old. Mora and Prachi were in their 30s. Following their rescue, they were manhandled by the police.
Furthermore, 15-year-old Manila was placed under the custody of the Special Operations Group (SOG)—a specialized law enforcement unit typically reserved for high-risk operations, counterterrorism, hostage rescue, and responding to complex criminal or insurgent activity.
It took three long years for the judicial system to take action against the perpetrators. Of the four accused individuals in this case, two men have been sentenced to four years of imprisonment, and a third has been sentenced to seven years. The female accused was acquitted by the court. We hope the court brings justice by granting them compensation.
