Good News for Sisters Esmi & Rashida

14-year-old Esmi and 8-year-old Rashida will soon receive compensation for the horrific abuse they have endured. Freedom Firm rescued the two sisters in April 2026 from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Their story appeared in a local newspaper. The Varanasi Child Welfare Committee is currently reviewing their case. In a recent meeting, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh ordered that the survivors receive compensation.

Esmi's and Rashida's mother gave them away to their aunt, who forced both children into prostitution and was living off their earnings. Post-rescue, the girls were placed in different shelter homes. Our social workers are seeking to reunite them, and our legal team is working hard to ensure that the three perpetrators who were arrested for exploiting the girls will be convicted and brought to justice.
