On November 14, our social workers joined hands with the Child Welfare Committee to celebrate Children’s Day across multiple shelter homes. The atmosphere was brighter than ever. Every shelter home buzzed with laughter, music, and cheerful voices.
The girls threw themselves into the activities planned for them. For a few hours, the weight of their pasts lifted, and their childlike joy broke through. No matter what they’ve endured, they are still children—dreaming, laughing, and hoping.
From energetic dance performances to relays and balloon games, the girls participated with enthusiasm. A few survivors also recited poems of their choice, pouring emotion and creativity into every line.
The celebrations ended with snacks and treats, but what made the day truly special was the love, encouragement, and freedom the girls experienced. It was a day where smiles were wide, hearts were full, and every girl felt seen, valued, and celebrated.
