India just took the lead for most populated country in the world. It's not surprising that the Global Slavery Index reports India to have the greatest number of people in slavery, an estimated 11 million. Some of these slaves are little girls, as young as 10 years old who are being sexually exploited.
Sex trafficking is a dark, daunting problem, but there is hope. Freedom Firm works to end child sex trafficking in India through rescue, restoration and justice. Since our beginning in 2006, Freedom Firm has rescued over 900 young women from commercial sexual exploitation. We see local law enforcement responding to this issue and planning rescues to free girls who are trapped. With support from our social workers, survivors of trafficking are rebuilding their lives in freedom by pursuing education, working jobs, or raising children.
