Ananiya Rebuilds Her Future Amidst Her Grief

Our social worker, Anjana, recently met Ananiya (rescued March 17, 2025, from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh). After two months of not hearing from Ananiya, she finally called Anjana and agreed to meet. Anjana was delighted to see Ananiya after such a long time.

When Anjana asked Ananiya how she is doing, she shared that she recently lost her father, and ever since, she has been worried about her two younger sisters. Ananiya explained that her aunts have been manipulating their grandparents into transferring their father's property into her aunts' names. Her grandparents are frustrated and asked Ananiya and her sisters to secure a job in case they are left with no inheritance.

Ananiya is currently staying with her friend, Rushee, while her two younger sisters are living with their grandparents. When Anjana asked how she had met Rushee, Ananiya avoided answering the question. She also shared that her boyfriend left her and they are no longer in contact.

At the end of the visit, Ananiya shared that she wants to enroll in a basic beautician course. We are relieved that Ananiya reached out to us. Our team will continue to support her in the days ahead and seek opportunities for her to pursue a beautician course.
