On May 29, social workers Shalini and Manisha met survivor Abhina (rescued March 17, 2025, from Prayagraj, UP) for a follow-up home visit.
Manisha shared that Abhina was living in a home with her daughter. Abhina has a 36 mm stone in her gallbladder, which causes her a lot of pain. She has also developed lumps in her uterus, and her doctor recommended a hysterectomy.
Abhina does not feel ready for this surgery, as she is eager to have more children in the future. Our team suggested that she seek a second opinion to see if there may be any alternatives. For now, she is continuing her original medical treatment.

Abhina's 9-year-old daughter is in third grade and attends a nearby government school. Abhina explained that she is unhappy with the current school and hopes to send her daughter to a different one.
At the end of the visit, our social workers gifted Abhina's daughter a new school bag filled with stationery and school supplies for her new academic year. This included a geometry set, pencils, a lunch box, a water bottle, and notebooks. Her daughter was thrilled to receive the gifts.
Freedom Firm is celebrating 20 years of rescuing girls like Abhina. Will you join the fight? Donate and/or choose your summer challenge to help the next girl.
