On June 1, 2025, we received intel for a minor girl being sexually exploited in a hotel in Purba Burdwan, West Bengal. We told the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) about the victim. While verifying this information, we received another lead for an additional minor being sexually exploited in the same hotel. After collecting sufficient evidence on the first victim, our team and a member from the WBCPCR went to meet the Purba Burdwan Superintendent of Police (SP).
We presented our evidence to the SP of the victims being exploited along with a letter from the WBCPCR. The SP responded positively and assigned a team led by the Purba Burdwan Deputy Superintendent of Police to initiate a raid.
As soon as we confirmed that the victims were at the hotel, the police and our team proceeded to the hotel.

On June 10, at 3:38 p.m., the police and our team raided the hotel. We checked each room and rescued both victims from the second floor. We also found three other women in the hotel. The police arrested four males who were at the hotel. After collecting incriminating evidence, the police locked the hotel. The five victims, four accused (the brothel keeper, two hotel staff, and a customer), and our team proceeded to the police station.

At the police station, the Inspector in Charge interviewed each survivor. The younger survivors we had tracked were 18-year-old Salomi and 15-year-old Palomi. The other three survivors were between the ages of 21 and 30.
We accompanied the five survivors to their general medical tests, then returned to the police station together. The major victims spent the night at the police station with a female police officer present, and 15-year-old Palomi was placed in a shelter home.
On the morning of June 11, the survivors were produced at court. The major survivors were released, and Palomi was placed in a shelter home where she remains safe. The four accused remain in police custody.
