3 survivors from a shelter home in Karad learned how to make lanterns. They secured an order for one hundred lanterns for Diwali, Festival of Lights coming up on November 4th. They made a total of 3,000 lanterns in the last few weeks! They plan to use some lanterns around the shelter home and hope to sell the rest.
Today, our social workers taught them to make small candles called diyas. We’re inspired by their ambition and excited to see what these young women will do after they leave the shelter home.
