Our team received intel about two minors being exploited in Ratlam, Madhy Pradesh, but we were unsure of the exact location. In order to narrow down the girls’ location, our investigators checked different areas in Ratlam. First, they checked Bagakheda, a small village in Ratlam, but they did not locate the minors. However, during the search, they identified another minor being exploited at Parveliya Dera, a small village in Ratlam known as a hub for prostitution, with 40–50 brothels operating in the area. We learned that the minor was being exploited in one of the brothels–a small house with two rooms covered by tin roofs.

Additional members of our team travelled to Ratlam to assist with a rescue. Meanwhile, our team members who were already in Ratlam met the Superintendent of Police (SP). They shared about Freedom Firm and the work we do, and requested the police to assist with a rescue operation. The team also shared their concerns about possible tip-offs. The SP assured our team that everything would be handled confidentially.

The rescue was planned for January 21, but the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) asked to postpone due to an emergency; all the police officers had to attend a meeting, so the rescue was postponed to the next day.
On January 22, the police and our team proceeded to the brothel and rescued the minor victim, 14-year-old Aboli, at 2:53 p.m.. The police arrested the brothel keeper, a 58-year-old woman, and the pimp, who was a close relative of Aboli’s father.
To confirm Aboli’s identity, the police contacted the school where Aboli had previously studied. After verifying her details, the police finished filing the First Information Report (FIR) at 9:50 p.m.. Aboli was taken to her medical exams, then around 3:00 a.m. on January 23, she was finally placed in a one-stop shelter home in Ratlam where she remains safe. Our team continues to work to locate the girls we originally set out to find.
