Freedom Firm rescued 3 minor girls from Meerganj red-light area in Allahabad yesterday. The successful rescue came after 8 months of stalled rescue operations in Allahabad due to lack of police cooperation.
The team identified three minor girls and thanks to the support of the City Superintendent, we were able to conduct a rescue operation. Sonam*, rescued last year, but released back to her family, was rescued along with Sita* and Seema*, both 16 year old girls.
A brothel keeper and a customer were arrested with criminal charges filed against each of them. We hope that the momentum of conducting raids and of police cooperation builds in Allahabad in the coming months.
