Rishi Rescued!

On 5th May, Freedom Firm staff found Rishi*, a 16-17-year-old in prostitution in Ganga Jamuna, a red-light area in Nagpur.

On the 6th, the team planned for a raid along with the local police.  Rishi was rescued and brothel keeper, Malti, arrested under sections of anti-trafficking laws.

In her statement at the police station, Rishi said that she was originally trafficked from Rajasthan. Rishi was taken to the hospital for an age verification test and later placed in a safe shelter home. She was produced before the magistrate for an inquiry to receive appropriate orders for her restoration.
