Rescued Girls Rejected from Aftercare Home

Today the Allahabad court issued an order to transfer three girls, who were rescued in a raid in Allahabad two weeks ago, to a shelter home in Agra.  After an initial medical test that appeared to be manipulated and showed that the girls were major, the court ordered the girls to be sent to a shelter home in Varanasi. The authorities there refused to let them stay citing that ‘they were from the red-light area,’ as an excuse not to accept them.

They were sent back to the Allahabad women’s police station where they stayed a total of fourteen days until today. Pray for the safety of the girls through this very unsettling experience.
